Spiritual Renewal Track

New in 2026!!!

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and
you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with
me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

~ Matthew 11:28–30 (The Message)

What would it be like to come away to Lake Junaluska and truly rest?

To slow down enough to listen for the unforced rhythms of grace?

To be invited into a deeper, more intentional awareness of

your connection with God?

Spiritual Renewal Overview

A Look at What the Week Will Offer

This year, we are delighted to offer adult participants a new Spiritual Renewal Track – a sacred space woven into the week’s rhythm.

On each of the three full days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday), a leader-guided session will follow morning worship. In the afternoons, you’ll be free to engage in self-led reflective activities – on your own, with a friend, or in a small group – allowing what you’re discovering to unfold naturally. The beautiful vistas and restorative spaces at Lake Junaluska make these opportunities all the more impactful.

Amidst a week rich with music, worship, learning, and community, this track offers a gentle pause – a place to breathe, rest, and listen. Our hope is to create a safe, loving, nonjudgemental, and confidential space where you can explore your spiritual posture – your way of being – and notice how God is moving in and around you.

If you’re longing for space to catch your breath, to listen deeply, and to notice, name, and nurture what’s stirring within, the Spiritual Renewal Track may be the very gift you didn’t know you needed.

A Complete Resource

Equipping You for Advent 2026

Everyone who attends will have access to all five of the worship services we use during our time together. The liturgy. The music recommendations. The worship graphics. The altar designs as inspiration. The choreography. Everything. And because An Elemental Advent has been developed around the 2026-2027 Lectionary Calendar (Year B), you can return to your church at the end of June with everything you need for December all ready to go. Your leadership teams can customize the services to fit your church context and culture, but the inspiration and the planning will already be prepared. This aspect alone is worth coming for, but it's not all we're going to offer. We're just getting started!

Handbells Change in Location

All in One Place

PLUS! A familiar option returns...

If you are a handbell ringer looking to participate in any of the handbell choirs at MWAW2026, we are ecstatic to announce that all handbell rehearsals and performances will take place in the Harrell Center this year, making it much easier and faster for our wonderful ringers to get where they need to be! We know that the distance covered in prior years has been a challenge, and our Music & Worship Arts Week Design Team has worked diligently with Lake Junaluska to move things around so that this stops being a hurdle to participation!

We are also bringing back the Tin Handbell Choir with Kathryn Jurado leading the way...*IF* enough people sign up to participate. So if you're interested in this entry level Handbell Choir, be sure to select it when you register, and encourage your colleagues and fellow ringers to join us so that we can round out the handbell offerings and make this option available once again for all who love this beautiful instrument.
